Fuel OKC Awards More Than $1 Million to New and Expanding Schools

Fuel OKC is strategically investing in schools located in Oklahoma City’s urban core to strengthen academic outcomes and expand access to high-quality public school options for students and families.

Our school investment strategy focuses on three areas:

• Expanding schools with a proven track record of strong academic outcomes and organizational effectiveness

• Supporting schools that need additional capacity to consistently deliver high-quality outcomes

• Launching promising new schools in underserved areas of Oklahoma City.

Through three recent grants totaling more than $1 million, Fuel OKC is helping established schools grow, supporting a successful school transition and providing new schools with the resources they need to open their doors and serve families. Together, these investments will support more than 590 student seats in Oklahoma City.

Harding Fine Arts Academy: Supporting Expansion and a Successful Transition
Fuel OKC awarded a $530,000 Expansion Grant to Harding Fine Arts Academy to support its expansion and integration with Hupfeld Academy.

The investment will help provide stability and continuity as the schools come together, supporting teachers and staff, day-to-day operations, classroom materials and student resources, technology and systems, and safe, welcoming learning environments.

The expansion will create approximately 53 additional student seats while providing the resources needed to support students, educators and families throughout the transition.

Puentes y Puertas: Launching a New School for OKC Families
Fuel OKC awarded a $250,000 Launch Grant to Puentes y Puertas, Oklahoma City’s first dual-language public charter school, to help prepare the new school to serve Oklahoma City students and families.

The investment supported critical startup needs, including family and community engagement, enrollment outreach, marketing, school materials and facility improvements needed to meet code requirements and prepare the school to welcome students.

Puentes y Puertas opened in fall 2026 and will ultimately provide approximately 450 student seats, expanding access to a unique dual-language educational option for Oklahoma City families.

P3 Urban Montessori: Building the Foundation for a Strong Launch
P3 Urban Montessori, a new free public charter school serving pre-kindergarten students, received a $250,000 Launch Grant from Fuel OKC to help establish a strong foundation for its planned fall 2027 opening.

The funding will support critical startup needs, including family and community engagement, enrollment outreach, classroom materials, marketing and facility improvements needed to meet code requirements and prepare the school to welcome students.

When P3 opens in fall 2027, it will create approximately 90 new student seats for Oklahoma City families.
